Mr. Eric Arena (Superintendent of PCCSS) talks with Aubrey Lowe, Samuel Levester, and Calvin L. Waller about their assistance on building the baseball dugouts when they were students at PCHS in 1977. Recently, a wood plaque was discovered in one of the dugouts. The plaque shares the names of the students who built the dugouts. The three alumni share their memories of building the dugouts, their classmates, and the construction teacher. The plaque has been cleaned up and restored for preparation to be placed back in one of the dugouts.
The stories that the three share are priceless and a part of the history of PCHS and Putnam County. This is episode 5 of season 3 of the Putnam Proud Podcast.

Katie Foster and Jon King - work-based learning coordinators with PCSS - talk with Mr. Eric Arena (Superintendent of PCCSS) about work-based learning in Putnam County. They explain the program and introduce us to several students who are participating in work-based learning initiatives in the Putnam County Charter School System now. This is episode 4 of season 3 of the Putnam Proud Podcast.
Caleb, Evan, Ana, Gracie, Bryan, and Jordan are all seniors who are getting real-world job and performance experience while in school. They are also getting paid for doing this work. What a powerful learning experience. They share stories about their participation in the program.

Katie Seymour (Instructional Coach at the PCCSS Primary School) and Mr. Eric Arena (Superintendent of PCCSS) discuss Literacy Initiatives in the Putnam County Charter School System. This is episode 3 of season 3 of the Putnam Proud Podcast.
Katie Seymour is the instructional coach at the PCCSS Primary School. She is focused on improving the literacy of all students. Katie and Mr. Arena talk about preparing kids to be successful in school and beyond the classroom. They share their thoughts about how parents/grandparents can encourage reading at home. Additionally, they share the importance of involving children in discussions and having plenty of reading material in the home.
Katie was appointed to be on the Georgia Council on Literacy. She talks about the Georgia Literacy Legislation (HB 538) and the Senate Bill (SB 211) that set-up the council.

Karmarryo Twilley, part 2: Trading in My Kandora for a Kimono. This is episode 2 of season 3 of the Putnam Proud Podcast.
Karmarryo Twilley attended his early years of school at Putnam County Charter Schools. His family eventually moved. Karmarryo completed school elsewhere and then attended college and became a teacher. He returned to PCCSS and taught school children in Putnam. Then Karmarryo decided that he wanted to go to Dubai and teach school. After three years there he has stopped in at PCCSS to say hi and then to go to Japan to be a teacher for at least a year.
In this second episode of the third season of the Putnam Proud Podcast, Eric Arena continues his discussion with Karmarryo. Karmarryo shares his thoughts about his next journey which is to stay briefly in Putnam County and then head to a new country - Japan. In Japan he will be an academic coach working with American children through the US Department of Defense. What an amazing journey Karmarryo is on!
