Charles (Charlie) F. Winslette is a 1967 graduate of Putnam County Schools. He won a state championship as a football player at Putnam County and has won two other state championships in football as a head coach - West Rome 1985 and Greene-Taliaferro - 1993. He is part of an elite group that has accomplished championships as a player and as a head coach. Over his 49 years in education Charlie Winslette left his footprint. He has been recognized for his success in athletics by many organizations. He has made programs grow and be successful throughout the state. As a result, he has been inducted into 5 Halls of Fame in Georgia: Fayette County High School Sports Hall of Fame (2006), Georgia Athletic Coaches Association Hall of Fame (2013), Georgia Athletic director's Association Hall of Fame (2016), Rome-Floyd County Sports Hall of Fame (2016), and Tift County Athletic Hall of Fame (2018). Charlie's career comes full circle as he has returned to Putnam County to coach the football team. You will love this interview.
